CommandHub

A personal command library with categories, drag-and-drop groups and optional AI explanations.

My role

Product design & development

The scope

React · TypeScript · Express

Project status

Open-source application

The project, at a glance

The challenge
Commands become difficult to reuse when they are scattered across notes and terminal history.
My contribution
I designed and built the command library, organization controls, persistent backend and optional AI annotation flow.
What came out of it
A public implementation that keeps commands together with their purpose and context.

01 / The question behind the work

Give useful commands a place you can find again.

The problem

Commands get scattered across notes, terminal history and project READMEs. A saved snippet becomes more useful when its purpose and context stay attached.

My contribution

Command-library information architecture, organization interactions, React interface, persistent backend and optional AI annotation flow.

What the work delivers

React + TypeScript interface, Category/group/command CRUD, Persistent drag-and-drop ordering, Express + TypeORM + SQLite API, Optional AI annotation, API, unit and Playwright test setup.

02 / Design decisions

The thinking
in the details.

Specific choices, connected to the work you can see.

01

Organize by the work

Categories contain groups and commands; persistent ordering supports a personal working structure.

↳ Documented product behavior
02

Keep context beside the command

Store descriptions and optional AI annotations with the snippet, making it easier to remember when and why to use it.

↳ Documented product behavior
03

Make reordering a core interaction

Support cross-container movement and preserve the resulting order.

↳ Documented product behavior
03 / Connecting the experience

How the pieces connect.

Select a stage to explore its purpose.

The moment

Save a command and the reason for using it.

The design intention

Keep useful context attached to the snippet.
